Indigenous Artisans, Events of 2025, and Indigenous Connections Explained


The initial presentation below features the annual SWAIA event. Additionally, the Cherokee Artisan Marketplace is a public event scheduled during the 73rd annual Cherokee National Holiday, where visitors can purchase skillfully handmade creations from Cherokee artisans. If you plan to be in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, at the end of August, the marketplace site has provided relevant information.










The following presentation is being shared due to numerous online discussions about Indigenous connections relative to families. As this site often shares information about cultures and events, the explanation below is included for clarity. ISA does not intend to determine who is Indigenous, but even if someone is aware of their connections, whether through citizenship or otherwise, it's crucial not to infringe upon any community or culture. Instead, engage with a genuine intention to contribute positively to that population's existence. There are many ways to offer support. As highlighted in the presentation, several factors determine how individuals are part of various Indigenous communities or any community. With enough intentional discord in the world, learning about and sharing cultural experiences is beneficial when done peacefully and without unnecessary conflict. Some people have precise family backgrounds, while others do not, and that's perfectly fine. The purpose of engagement is to encourage support for others in general.
